The Backstory
In 1900, a Ventrue named Nathan Kent assumed control of the city. Relative peace reigned for nearly 100 years.
Prince Kent built the city up from nothing. The majority of the Camarilla thought San Francisco would never amount to anything. But with powerful leadership and a knack for business, Prince Kent was able to make San Francisco a force to be reckoned with.
The city attracted every clan of kindred imaginable. With that growth and prosperity also came greed and power struggles. By 1980, a new influx of neonates set their eyes on the city and became soon became pawns of older kindred. This conflict began to slowly build and Prince Kent was challenged by many during the decade of excess. However, the enemies of Prince Kent underestimated his power and intelligence.
Prince Kent was able to defeat all who opposed him, cementing himself as a true force the vampire world by the end of the 80s. However in 1998, Prince Kent fell when numerous factions joined forces, finally deposing and killing him in August of that year.
Many kindred meet their final death during the Purge. Without rule of law and Prince Kent's watchful eye, San Francisco spiralled into a CHAOTIC blood bath for over a year and a half. That is until a powerful Kindred name Ambrogino Giovanni arrived on a cold winter day in 2000.
NO NEONATES. THIS IS LAW
Prince Giovanni declared himself prince in 2000 and almost immediately after taking power ruled that NO KINDRED were allowed to sire new blood. As Prince Giovanni stated :
"The strife that San Francisco endured under the former Prince shall be undone. This city suffered. Many kindred died as the result of power and blindness that remained unchecked. This stops now. We need to rebuild and we need to prosper. As such, I declare no kine shall be embraced moving forward. We need order and this is the first step to it."
